My name is Erin Valdivia, and I have served on the Board of Directors of the Valley Women’s Club since January 2021. I was raised in the San Lorenzo Valley and the Santa Cruz mountains, and I love living here! My husband Brian also grew up here and serves on the Board of Directors of the Boulder Creek Parks and Recreation District. We have developed friendships and are deeply involved in the local community, so we have chosen to raise our own family here. My daily activities include singing and playing music in Sugar by the Pound, baking sourdough bread, teaching Jazzercise, and homeschooling our four sweet boys. Efficient scheduling is required!
I have been aware of the VWC and many of their efforts and projects but was not connected until I started volunteering with the Redwood Mountain Faire. I am passionate about bringing people together in our community and continuing to create community involvement while supporting the needs of our residents. I feel strongly about the mission of the VWC and am excited to be involved more directly. Because of my desire to connect people, I have taken on the task of building our volunteer base. Throughout the year, the VWC organizes various community town hall meetings, award ceremonies, environmental and political action, and information forums and is essential to helping run the Redwood Mountain Faire. Volunteers are critical in helping with all of these activities. It’s also an opportunity for the volunteers to take in all that the VWC does and learn about the common interests that we all have living here in this valley. If you are interested in volunteering for future events, email me at volunteer@valleywomensclub.org.
