The Butt Stops Here

The Butt Stops Here is an ongoing cigarette butt watershed pollution reduction and education program that was initiated in 2010 by The Valley Women’s Club of San Lorenzo Valley’s Environmental Committee for the SLV. The program is intended to improve the health of the watershed by reducing the amount of cigarette butt litter entering it from streets that feed to storm drains that discharge to streams, creeks and the river, and ultimately to the ocean.   • Butts WASH DOWN into our creeks, rivers, and oceans
  • Butts POLLUTE THE WATER
  • Butts HARM deer, fish, frogs & other CRITTERS
  • Butts last YEARS in the Environment

Cartoon Brochure Reminds Smokers to Keep Their Butts Off the Ground!

Tai Stills, member of the VWC’s Environmental Committee, has a talent for designing and producing eye and mind-catching brochures on environmental issues. She designed the cartoon brochure and enlisted the talented artist Jon Hastings to do the drawings as a part of the Butt Stops Here Campaign, with Jon’s services paid for by the SLV Water District Grant.
