First appointed to the Water Board, and then elected by an enormous majority, Boulder Creek resident Margaret Bruce is proving to be a dedicated and informed member of the SLV Water District’s Board of Directors. She knows of our concerns relating to the SLV’s environmental health, and understands the importance of the Water District’s policies and actions on that health.
Margaret wants to encourage interested members of the public to attend the Water District’s Environmental Committee meetings – or at least to know about them and chime in on issues they are interested in or care about.
Recent meetings have had two agenda items of significant importance:
* An update on the District’s Watershed Management Plan
* Discussion of the technical and financial issues associated with a potential Carbon Sequestration inventory of Water District forested lands for possible future sale of carbon credits.
The Committee hears from the public, receives reports and studies the issues. Members then either report back to the Board as information or discussion items, or if the committee determines that an action would be appropriate, will make a recommendation to the full board for its consideration. Questions and input from interested community members are earnestly invited!
Margaret urges, “Please share with others in your network who may find this information valuable. This information is also posted on the Water District’s website, and can be found here: http://www.slvwd.com/agendas-meetings.htm.
