Roaring Camp provides a beautiful venue of meadow and trees, and the dedicated Faire Music Committee has enticed national and local performers to play for us starting at 11 a.m. sharp — so arrive early and stay late!!
Everyone will find their favorite styles of music, from bluegrass and blues to rock, R&B, soul, reggae, and folk/Americana. And don’t forget the juried arts and crafts, extensive activities for kids, great food, local micro-brews (Boulder Creek Brewery and Santa Cruz Mountains Brewery) and wonderful wines (Hallcrest, Zayante and Organic Wine Works), as well as Scrumpy’s hard ciders; and don’t forget the silent auction, and entertainment surprises each day.
Joining Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, Saturday on the Meadow Stage, are local and regional favorites Hot Buttered Rum, Soul Majestic, Achilles Wheel, Steep Ravine, and My Stupid Brother. With Flor de Cana’s Caribbean dance energy on the Creekside Stage, are the awesome Sherry Austin and Henhouse, The Naked Bootleggers, Who’s Holdin’, and On The Spot Trio, whowill surely thrill attendees.
Sunday’s fantastic lineup features Pimps of Joytime, Roy Rogers and The Delta Rhythm Kings, Keith Greeninger and Dayan Kai & Band, Diego’s Umbrella, Candalaria, and the McCoy Tyler Band on the Meadow Stage. And at Creekside, folks will rock with The Chop Tops, John Craigie, Inciters, Pure Roots and the Shawn Andrews Band.
The Faire will directly benefit 19 important community and education groups. “We are hoping to top the $40,000 given to the 2013 Faire recipients, and it is only possible thanks to over 350 volunteers working hard to provide an exciting, unique and safe event for people of all ages,” states Faire Director, Violet Smith (also a volunteer as is everyone on the Steering Committee).
Come enjoy the Faire, or help by volunteering, and you will be directly supporting the following organizations: South Street Centre, Mountain Community Resources, Valley Churches United Missions, Boulder Creek Recreation and Park District, Camp Joy Gardens, SLV Community Band, Mountain Community Theatre, Boy Scout Troop 604, SLV Diversity Works, Rotary Club of SLV, Tara Home, The Valley Women’s Club of SLV (presenting the Faire) and the following school groups: Boulder Creek Elementary Parents’ Club, Charter Family Booster Club, SLV High Athletics, SLV High Music Boosters, SLV High Football and the SLV Middle School Panther Club.
Many other organizations will benefit through non-profit information booths as well.
A few more volunteers are needed for the mid and late afternoon shifts on Sunday; those working a shift have free entry to the Faire for that day. Volunteer most easily online at http://www.redwoodmountainfaire.com, or contact Linda at 566-7788 with questions. ASAP!!
Plan to come both days! Remember, no pets and no outside beverages allowed anywhere at the event, and everything happens RAIN or SHINE!
