Halloween in downtown Boulder Creek is an amazing evening! Hundreds of people of all ages, dressed in costume, walk in a giant loop along the sidewalks of Boulder Creek from 5 to 7 pm, so the children may Trick-or-Treat in a safe environment. It is so much FUN!
Since the second year of this amazing demonstration of generosity by BC businesses over thirty years ago, the VWC has provided volunteers to wear the bright orange safety vests and help direct pedestrians around the loop and to make sure they don’t cross the road except at the designated intersections, since the commuters on Hwy 9 are trying to get home and we want the event to be safe and fun for all.
You are encouraged to contact Hilary at 338- 2247 to volunteer to help! You will meet in front of the Boulder Creek Liquor Store at 4:45, get your vest and assignment and instructions, and then enjoy the amazing sights and sounds while helping keep folks safe. Since daylight savings will still be in place, the evening may not get as cold, but layers are good, costumes are great but not required, and plan to stay for Chinese food at Hilary’s afterward. (We’ll take orders as you come and will share the tab; significant others invited too.) Hilary lives just a few block down Hwy 9 from the downtown area. You don’t have to say for dinner, but it’s a great way to share stories and enjoy the great folks who help with this fun community service event.
Hope to see you there!!
