I am a 52-year resident of this iconic valley. When I moved into a funky, unheated cabin by Kings Creek in 1970 with a husband and a newborn baby, I was sure I would depart within six months. But then something happened: I was captivated and entranced by drops of rain on a bush outside my window, being transformed into sparkling rainbows. It was magic: And that was it !!!
We learned how to live in these challenging mountains, which was a HUGE change from Brooklyn, New York. And I’m still here five decades later! I’ve been a member of VWC since its beginning and was President for a short while. We’ve worked hard to keep SLV from being developed in ways that harm our unique environment. Many of my obligations and responsibilities have dissipated, and I have some free time, which I would love to share as a board member for an organization that I love: The Valley.
