My name is Erica Stanojevic, and I am a lifelong Earth lover and a mom of a young son. Our planet needs clean water and abundant biodiversity! With that at heart, I've spent six years on the executive committee of the local Sierra Club and for several years chairing the Conservation Committee. During that time, I served on the Water Supply Advisory Committee for the City to form Santa Cruz's water plan. As conservation chair, our group worked on a variety of issues (often very much led by Jane Mio!) such as having the city adopt a bird-safe building plan and appropriately manage vegetation along the San Lorenzo River. We advocated for the better treatment of Jessie Street Marsh, facilitated tree plantings, developed relationships with the Amah Mutsun, and created feedback for countless Environmental Impact Reports for various development projects.
Currently, I serve as chair for my son’s Family Association at his school and have done so for several years. I am also deepening my relationship with spiritual practices through song, dance, and sweat.
It is time to steward and heal our beautiful Earth!
