Valley Women’s Club
VWC membership renewal reminders and ballots for 2-year terms on the VWC Board of Directors should be arriving in your mailbox soon.
Keep in mind that our bylaws require that you be a current VWC Member to vote. That’s why your RENEWAL is included in the same mailing as the BALLOT.
Your membership means the VWC’s voice carries more weight and, the more members we have, the broader the range of issues we can tackle in 2011.
Please take a moment to renew your membership and mail your ballot back to us by January 7th.
Save the Dates!
Please mark your calendars so you don’t miss our Annual General Meeting on Sunday, March 6th, at the Highlands Park Senior Center. It is a chance to reconnect with other VWC members; get a report on what the VWC is up to as well as updates from various local elected officials.
2011 is also the year for the Hammer-Marcum Awards and the date for honoring those recipients is October 2nd. The Hammer-Marcum Award was created in 1987 to honor two incredible people in the San Lorenzo Valley who have done loads to improve the quality of life of thousands of local residents: Mary Hammer and Annette Marcum.
The Hammer-Marcum Award is presented to one or more people who have made outstanding contributions to the San Lorenzo Valley through action, awareness and leadership in environmental, educational, social and/or political concerns. We will be asking for nominations for this prestigious award later in the year.
